A Successful Family Fun Day at The Sanctuary

The Pioneer Group welcomed families from Castle Vale, Erdington and Sutton Coldfield to The Sanctuary for a spectacular Family Fun Day. It was a huge success with roughly 175 people visiting!

The day was a chance for parents to meet with support services and learn how they can offer help for families. Meanwhile, their children could enjoy fun activities such as face-painting and even meet Disney character Angel from Lilo & Stitch.

The Pioneer Group were joined by support services including Homestart, Spurgeons, Aquarius, Banardo’s and many more. They were also joined by West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service. The Fire Service even arrived in a fire engine, much to the children’s delight where they could go inside and have a look.

It was a fantastic day not just for the strong turnout, also to give parents the opportunity to learn about the support available to them.

Shamsa Mughal, Family Support Team Leader at The Pioneer Group said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome so many families to the Family Fun Day event. This day was put together by our Early Help Development Workers and it’s thanks to their efforts that this has been such a success!

“Events like this are so important for families across our community in Castle Vale, as it gives them the opportunity to access the support they may need, whilst their children have fun during the half term holiday. A fantastic day overall!”
