Castle Vale, Birmingham – Thursday 12th June 2025
The Sanctuary, 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Local residents are invited to attend an exciting Employment & Skills Fair this June, designed to bring together the community with a wide range of employment, training, and support opportunities. The event brings together local employers, training providers, and educational institutions including South & City College Birmingham, BMet College, BAES (Birmingham Adult Education Service), and The Pioneer Group, among many others.
The fair aims to provide accessible pathways into work and learning for people across Castle Vale and surrounding areas, offering a one-stop opportunity to explore job vacancies, training courses, and employment support services.
This event is part of a broader, long-term partnership project inspired by the Birmingham Anchor Network. The initiative brings together housing providers, colleges, and local employers to co-create community learning hubs in Castle Vale and Shenley.
Jo Fieldhouse, Housing & Community Regeneration Director said “The Employment & Skills Fair is a fantastic example of how collaboration between local employers, education providers, and housing associations can create real opportunities for the community.
By working together with the like of the Birmingham Anchor Network, we’re not just offering jobs or courses, we’re building pathways to brighter futures for people.”
These hubs, managed by The Pioneer Group and Bournville Village Trust, will serve as local centres for adult learning, offering tailored courses delivered by BAES, BMet, and South & City College. The goal is to support residents who are furthest from the job market by equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to access meaningful employment.
This collaborative approach ensures that the training offered is shaped by the needs and aspirations of local people.
