Across Castle Vale, there are many individuals who do so much good work around our community that deserve to be recognised. That’s why we’re introducing our Hearts of Castle Vale Awards, celebrating our community heroes!
Starting today (Monday 26th January), you can nominate someone who you feel goes above and beyond for the community. We have a number of categories you can put someone forward. These are:
Duty to the Community Award
Recognising unwavering dedication to Castle Vale.
This award honours an individual whose commitment to Castle Vale shines through everything they do. It celebrates someone who consistently goes above and beyond — always ready to step in, lend a hand, and make a difference.
Their hard work, reliability, and community spirit help keep Castle Vale strong, connected, and thriving.
Volunteer of the Year Award
Celebrating the people who their time, energy and heart to Castle Vale.
Across our community, countless volunteers show up week after week to support activities, events, and services that make a real difference. This award recognises their hard work, dedication, and generosity.
It shines a light on those whose commitment strengthens our community, uplifts others, and creates opportunities for people to connect, grow, and thrive.
Good Neighbour of the Year Award
Honouring everyday kindness that strengthens our community.
This award celebrates the neighbours who make life a little brighter. It recognises the small but meaningful acts — kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness — that help people feel supported and connected.
Whether it’s lending a hand, offering a friendly word, or simply being someone others can rely on, these neighbours embody the true spirit of community.
Inspirational Young Person of the Year Award
Celebrating the remarkable young people who uplift our community.
This award honours children and young people who have gone above and beyond to show exceptional resilience, achievement, or service to others.
It recognises those whose actions inspire the community — whether through personal strength, outstanding accomplishments, or a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Unsung Hero Award
Honouring the quiet champions who make a big difference.
This award recognises someone whose hard work often goes unnoticed but never unappreciated. They are the reliable, helpful, and selfless individuals who give their time and energy without ever expecting anything in return.
Their quiet dedication strengthens the community and inspires others through actions rather than applause.
Community Connector Award
Celebrating someone who brings people together with heart and intention.
This award recognises an individual who naturally creates connection. Through their warmth, inclusivity, and genuine care for others, they help people feel welcome, valued, and part of something bigger.
Whether within a group or across the wider community, they strengthen relationships, spark collaboration, and make it easier for everyone to belong.

All you need to do is fill in our form below. You can also email the sanctuary@pioneergroup.org.uk or complete a paper form at The Sanctuary.
On the form, you just need to put in your nomination under the relevant category, with a reason why you’re putting them forward.
Nominations close on Friday 20th February, where we’ll then create a shortlist and open voting.
