First homes released in Manor House development

Pioneer Places has released the first eight properties to their new owners on the exciting Manor House development in Stechford.

Pioneer Places (part of The Pioneer Group) is a housing provider that offers a range of quality homes and has recently branched into developing & marketing new-build properties. Their Manor House development offers 83 new homes, ranging from two & three bed houses and flats available for Shared Ownership, Rent to Buy and outright purchase.

Developers recently completed building work on four Rent to Buy and four Shared Ownership houses with the first sets of keys crossing palms from 18 – 21 June 2019 and more to be handed over throughout July.

With the first phase of the development finished, Pioneer Places has confirmed that building work will commence on the second Stechford site this September constructing 18 two-bed Rent to Buy apartments. Completion of the scheduled works is set for 2020.

The Rent to Buy scheme is designed to let working households rent a property at a subsidised rate, enabling residents to save for a deposit and subsequently purchase their first home. The properties are reduced 20% below market rent offering the Stechford homes from as little as £480 a month over the first five years. The new tenants commit to saving the 20% towards a property deposit.

All properties boast fitted bathrooms and kitchens with a hob and oven installed. They are located on Fir Tree Farm Drive and Manor Farm Drive, named after local landmark, The Manor Farm pub that stood on the land previously.

Vicky Gouldney, Commercial Property Advisor at Pioneer Places, is helping residents onto the property ladder, and commented:

We are proud to be the only housing provider in Birmingham offering the Rent to Buy scheme to help people work towards owning their own home. When the keys are handed over, we are thrilled and emotional to know that we are making a real difference to people who would not have been able to buy a home previously.

Natasha Bvute, one of the first residents to secure their Rent to Buy two-bed house, commented:

I’m ecstatic to be moving into my brand new home. My two-year-old son and I currently live with my mum, but the Rent to Buy initiative has made the prospect of owning my own home a reality. I am 22 and my other option would have been private rental, but I would not have been able to save the deposit for a home of my own. I never dreamt that I could be on the property ladder at this age, but Pioneer Places has made this possible.

Natasha expressed that she can’t wait to start this new phase of her life and move in and has already started to buy appliances and furniture for her new home.

Pioneer Places is urging interested parties to apply quickly for the Rent to Buy apartments for the second phase of building as they are already being allocated. With a straightforward application process, more information can be found at the following website:
